After all the brawling at shows, highway shootouts, and beef with GBE, I assumed there was nothing Migos could do anymore that would surprise me. I was wrong.

The initial arrest wasn’t so shocking (guns and narcotics are kind of Migos’ thing), but shit started to heat up three days later when news surfaced that, while Takeoff and Quavo were back on the streets, Offset had been denied bail due to his history of legal issues. Rather than be daunted by this, Offset decided to abide by the old saying: “Every setback is just a new opportunity. An opportunity to start a prison riot”

And that’s exactly what he did.

Details are sparse, but apparently this all began when Offset got into it with another inmate on Saturday 5/2. It’s only speculation, but I like to think that the incident ended with Offset shouting “None of you seem to understand. I’m not locked in here with you, YOU’RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME!”

While this kind of activity might boost your reputation on the inside, it isn’t the kind of thing that makes a judge inclined to let you out on bail. The following Friday he was denied bond for a second time and responded by yelling obscenities at the judge. Because ya know… Fuck it, I guess.

The whole thing definitely sticks to this whole doin-hood-shit thing Migos has going on, and I’m giving them a significant bump, but dude ya gotta stop. I’m already resigned to the fact that I’m not gonna see a Bobby Shmurda show until I’m old enough to collect social security, and now Migos has delayed their Yung Rich Nation tour. What’s it gonna take for me to see Migos live?

Yes, Atlanta’s breakout group of 2014 have apparently settled their dispute with the newly independent leader of Chicago’s GBE crew and marked the occasion with the above photo which was posted on various twitter accounts. Maybe if Israeli and Palestinian leadership posted a selfie with every treaty they signed some of them would last longer than a few months. We all could learn a thing or two from Migos and GBE. That is why I intend to nominate Keef for the UN’s secretary general position.

The beef began, we will all surely tell our grandchildren in years to come, with an altercation between Migos and GBE member Capo. Both sides then took to twitter, firing insults and threats as America collectively held its breath.

Tension reached its highest point in mid November, when a fight in DC ended with Migos member Quavo’s signature QC chain being taken. The chain resurfaced shortly, on Keef’s Instagram account.

The period following was tense but on December 8^th the photo above surfaced after the two camps met up in LA, with mediation from OG KK. And what’s that Quavos is wearing around his neck front and center in the photo? Looks like an early Christmas present from GBE!

I for one am happy to see this come to an end and hope to see some collabs between the two in the near future. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Merry Christmas, beef is over!

Oh no, wait. It was Keef.

Not long after the incident, the above post, showing the stolen chain, appeared on the Chicago MC’s Instagram. It was only up for a short time, but long enough for screenshots to be taken and the story to spread.

Hardly a week ago Migos were involved in an altercation with Capo of Chief Keef’s Glory Boyz Entertainment in GBE’s hometown of Chicago. This resulted in a lengthy back and forth on twitter that included threats from GBE’s Fredo Santana.

First thing’s first, my heart goes out to those most hurt by this: Migos fans in the Chi. You guys probably aren’t gonna see them again for a while. Sorry.

Secondly, I’m curious to see how Migos handles this. There’s been no official word from the ATL group’s camp yet. Right now I can think of two ways they can approach this:

1. Acknowledge the incident and use it as a platform to begin an insightful discussion about violence in hip hop culture.
2. Deny the incident ever happened. Deny the chain in question ever existed. Claim that all existing pictures of Quavos wearing the chain are photoshopped.

But seriously, Keef and co proved that Migos made a big mistake by messing with GBE in their hometown. While I’d like to issue a plea to both camps to cool this down before it goes too far, I also gotta give Keef +100. He proved he’s living the life he always claimed, and his crew proved that they were more than just talk.

If you didn’t already watch the video go back and watch it. It’s only a minute long, you have the time. Put the computer on mute your boss won’t notice. As the group is rapping we see OffSet grilling a dude in the crowd. He goes balls to the walls and throws a superman punch straight out of WWF Smackdown! 2000, sparking an all out riot on the dance floor.

I’ve always said Migos would be as at home in the WWE as on the cover of XXL and this show just furthers the point. The way OffSet jumps off the stage with reckless abandon pushes their rep as the rap group that does whatever the fuck they want. You’d be hard pressed to find another mainstream rap group that’s blowing up like Migos, while still staying so true to their roots.

I’d regret it if I didn’t mention the DJ in this video. The way he lets the record spin back, waits a second and drops the banger that is Hannah Montana is the absolute definition of thinking on your feet (not that this is his first time). It’ll come in handy if he’s out of work and he needs to book sweet 16s and bar mitzvah and he can put “DJed large events including brawls” on his resume. Talk about job experience.

Migos keeps doing their thing and keeps climbing up the street credit charts. Street credit up 50.

Migos continues to be the the most interesting rap group in the game. After a highway shootout straight out of Bonnie and Clyde, the group RAGDOLLED a dude who got caught trying to snatch a chain. I mean seriously did you see the picture? Go back and look again.  They beat the pant legs off that motherfucker. I remember back in the day when chain snatching was a hot thing but come on man are you that desperate? Get a second job. Go back to school (ITT Tech sounds great). Snatch a chain from Tyga or Yung Berg, or one of those other bum dudes who have gotten their shit taken. Don’t go trying to rob the group that’s going right from the show to the bando and shooting dudes on the way.
I loved Versace, M&M and Hannah Montana are dope, Migos is gonna be around for a long time. If this rap thing doesn’t work out though, they can take solace knowing that Vince McMahon probably already wrote up a contract for them to sign.

Beating down fans in the Music City earns Migos another 50 Street Credit points, just enough to hold them over till their next brawl.

These motherfuckers go HARD in the paint. I don’t even know where to go with this story, but you can be sure that if someone was mad enough to open fire on the highway, it wasn’t because they thought “Chinatown” wasn’t representative of their neighborhood. Whatever these dudes are involved in is slipping out the bando and starting to show itself in the streets. Migos firing back even though their sprinter got Swiss cheesed shows us these dudes mean business. I won’t be surprised if they pull a Cam and refuse to tell the cops who was shooting. Streets don’t snitch.

Onto the quote from their manager. I’m sure he’s a good friend and a great business mind but he’s throwing out quotes that make him sound like he’s getting interviewed on 168th for the 6pm news. Robinson Cano should drop Hov and pick this dude up, get his ass outa Seattle (real talk, leave Seattle to Frasier and go back to a real city).

This kind of story is almost unprecedented for such a popular group so they’re picking up a big 105 in their street credit.
